Difference between Banana and Plantain

People do find it difficult differentiating between  banana and plantain because of there physical similarity, I use to myself. Merely looking at them they look alike, but have slit difference like….

BANANA	PLANTAIN
·         Banana is shorter than plantain	·         Plantain is longer
·         Has a lighter outer skin	·         Has a ticker outer skin
·         Higher moisture content	·         Moisture content lower than that of banana
·         Green when not ripe and yellow when ripe	·         Green when not ripe and yellow when ripe. (The skin turn black when fully ripe)
·         Sweet taste	·         Low sugar, has a starchy flavour (gets sweeter when ripe)
